The latin word for this fish is Garra Rufa. She belongs to the family ( cyprinidae ) carp fish. Out of two to three species of carp, only Garra Rufa contains the effective healing process. 
The lifespan of this fish are from 4-6 years and they can grow in an average of 9-12 cm.
They live in thermal fresh river waters of the Asian continent.
Their habitat runs from the southeast of Asia over Iran, Iraq, east Turkey and the rivers of Eufrat and Tigris.

The treatment takes place in a pool of 700 l, where the person stays with hundreds of fish in water heated up to 35 degrees °C.
While a person stays in this pool for two hours under such temperature the fish's metabolism speeds up and they instinctively start to do their micro-peeling nibbling on the ill parts of the body releasing the enzym dithranol therefore preventing psoriasis.
Warning: You must discontinue use of cortisone creams,both during and several days before the treatment, as these can harm the fish.
Also, you should not consume any alcoholic beverages during the treatment period.
Skin care: Before each treatment, you should take a lukewarm shower without soap or shower gel.
- We recommend shaving body hair in order to make it easier for the fish to do their job.
